LA MIRADA THEATRE ANNOUNCES 2004-2005 SEASON

PRODUCED BY MCCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT

LA MIRADA, Calif., August 19, 2004 -- The La Mirada Theatre for Performing Arts announces their 2004-2005 season of Broadway musicals, plays and special events produced for the 11th year by McCoy Rigby Entertainment. Leading off the season, La Mirada is the first stop on the national tour of "Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan," starring Rigby in her farewell performance on the 100th anniversary of this James M. Barrie classic. The season continues with "Fully Committed," "My Way," "My Fair Lady," "Smokey Joe's Cafe," and "Together Again," with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman.

Ovation Award honoree, Tony Award nominee and two-time Olympic gymnast, Rigby takes flight in this timeless musical masterpiece, complete with evil Captain Hook, a crafty crocodile and the enchantment of Neverland. "Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan" opens Sept. 24 and runs through Oct. 10 before continuing on its national tour as part of the McCoy-Rigby Entertainment Broadway Series.

"Fully Committed," starring Jamison Stern, runs November 5 - 21. This deliciously funny play is about a struggling actor working as a reservations captain in a popular New York restaurant. He discovers his "reservation" power in one dog-eat-dog work-shift, climbing from the bottom of the culinary totem pole. "Fully Committed" exposes hilariously bad behavior as desperate diners resort to bribes, name-dropping and downright begging.

Tim Conway and Harvey Korman, with special guest Louise DuArt, kick off the New Year with two performances Feb. 5 of "Together Again," their combustible brand of comedy perfected during one of the most acclaimed TV programs, "The Carol Burnett Show." Conway and Korman recreate sketches and zany roles with DuArt portraying Burnett with dead-on accuracy.

The musical review "My Way," a tribute to Frank Sinatra, runs Feb. 11 - 27. Four multi-talented singers, backed by three stellar musicians, invite the audience into the heart of a collection of some of the best popular songs of this century. This unforgettable music revue featuring 56 songs recorded by "Old Blue Eyes" includes "Fly Me to the Moon," "It Was A Very Good Year," "The Lady is a Tramp," "New York, New York," "That's Life," "Witchcraft," "My Way" and many more!

The Alan Jay Learner and Frederick Loewe classic, "My Fair Lady," one of the most beloved musicals in American theatre, plays May 20 - June 5. Hit songs include "I Could Have Danced All Night," "The Rain in Spain," and "I'm Getting Married in the Morning."

"Smokey Joe's Cafe," which runs June 10 - 26, closes the season with 40 of the greatest Leiber & Stoller songs ever recorded. "Smokey Joe's Cafe" stays true to its roots and rocks the audience through funny, rousing, and even touching moments. Revisit the sounds of the 1950s, '60s and '70s with hits like "Hound Dog," "Love Potion #9," "Stand By Me," "Jailhouse Rock," originally produced by sensations such as The Drifters, The Coasters, Otis Redding, Elvis Presley, Ben E. King, and many more!

"Tom and I are pleased to present 'Peter Pan' again at La Mirada," said Rigby. "The entire 2004-2005 season is filled with exciting Broadway shows and plays that everyone will enjoy."

La Mirada Theatre Executive Director Jeff Brown adds, "This 11th Season for the McCoy Rigby Series is a triumphant year; a great mix of entertainment for all ages. Cathy Rigby and Tom McCoy have done a great job of putting together our best year ever."

Each production, with the exception of the special event "Together Again," runs for nineteen performances during a two and one-half week period. Single tickets for the musicals and plays are $40 and $32. A five-show season subscription is $70 to $140 and entitles the subscriber to further discounts on individual shows and special events. Tickets for the Tim Conway and Harvey Korman Special Event are $40 to $80. Senior, student and group prices are also available.
