Phantom Projects Educational Theatre Group is one of
the only groups in the Nation that produces theatre
specifically for a teen audience. Mixing adult and teen performers, we bring professional quality shows to the
1,251-seat La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Our seasons have mixed shows that deal with teen issues, such
as drugs, racism, and violence, and also brings to the
stage plays that most middle schools and high schools
study in class such as The Diary of Anne Frank, The
Miracle Worker, Our Town, and The Crucible. In
addition to our La Mirada Theatre season, Phantom
Projects mounts shows specifically designed to tour to
schools and youth groups with shows about abstinence,
prejudice, and drug prevention. These touring shows feature all-teen casts.

The Outsiders
|
Feb 26 , 2009
7:00 pm
|
The Outsiders is seen through the eyes of Ponyboy, a Greaser on the wrong side of life who is caught up in territorial battles between the have-it-made rich kids—the Socs—and his tough, underprivileged family and friends. In the midst of urban warfare, Ponyboy somehow can't forget a short poem by Robert Frost that speaks of their fragile young lives. "I always remembered it because I never quite got what he meant by it." As these young people try to find themselves and each other, the sadness of sophistication begins to reach them…and change them. |
